World's Largest Graffiti

Brazilian president Lula inaugurated the world's largest graffiti on earth, 3500 square meters (over 37,000 square feet) at Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil on the 2nd of September of 2010.

The content of the graffiti in Brazil focuses on fighting the violation of children and teenager's rights. The project intends to bring back to life the area of the highway, to separate street art and graffiti from it's general concept of being vandalism and/or crime and to turn Foz do Iguaçu's highway into a tourist hotspot.

More than 100,000 people go through the graffitied highway that separates the Juscelino Kubitschek and Tancredo Neves avenues. Graffiti artist from Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay have been working on the highway for 10 days nonstop getting ready for the event. From Paraguay, graffiti artists involved in the project include EddyAtaqOz, and Priz which belong to Paraguayan colective "Jopara". On the Argentinian side there's the Grupo We! collective and from the Brazilian side there's Pontello, the Infames Crew and the Ya Basta collective made up by SicaLalanMichel and others.
The project is an initiative by brazilian theater company Amadeus, together with ItaipuSaneparSESC and Eco-Cataratas, with the support of Iguaçu National park and Macuco Safári.
