Mavelous Bodies

I've never cross-posted before, but I think that this is worth saying over here, too....

I think that often we can tend to focus on the negative things about our bodies.  Many of us want to lose a few pounds or run a faster mile or do more push ups or get rid of our junk in the trunk.  Many of us waste time wishing for bigger boobs or smaller boobs or six pack abs or more toned legs.  Many of us fixate on counting calories and getting to a particular number on the scale.

Instead of focusing so much on things we don't like about our bodies, we should spend more time marveling at how amazing our bodies are and what they can do.  Our bodies have remarkable capacities to grow and to heal and to accomplish the possible and the impossible.

We should love and respect our bodies.  We shouldn't call them gross or disgusting.  Doing so only hurts the soul.  We should thank our bodies for allowing us to breathe, to exist, to walk, to run, to ride bicycles, to do cartwheels and downward facing dogs, to relish delicious food, to smell the scents of fresh-brewed coffee and freshly-cut grass, and to strut our stuff in fabulous clothing.

Our bodies are marvelous -- no matter their shape or size.

What's marvelous about your body?
