Long, Lustrous lashes. This was the top makeup trend at the 2011 Grammy's, and was used on most celebrities, such as Jennifer Lopez, Kim Kardashian, and Rihanna. As a celebrity makeup artist, I am always asked how I get celebrities to have such gorgeous, long eye lashes. Many times, the look is achieved with fake lashes (I prefer single falsies as opposed to lash strips. They look much more natural).
However, I am also asked on tips for mascara for those who don't want to wear false lashes, so here are my quick and easy tips on how to get fuller, longer eye lashes, and the products I recommend.
1. Be sure to curl your lashes. This helps your lashes to look longer, and have more depth.
2. A lash primer is key. This allows you to build and build lashes without "mucking" them up with too much mascara. Start at the base or the lash, and work your way up. It's important to have a thick eyelash base, and a thin tip.
3. Choose a gentle, yet effective mascara. Most mascara is harmful and drying to the lashes. It's important to use a fortifying mascara that will build and strengthen the lashes, and also gives the performance you want. Most women aren't willing to sacrifice that key performance, so to get both healthy ingredients and quality is the holy grail.
Did you know that most mascara has ingredients like shellac (used to put shine on wood), tar (used to pave the roads), and Mercury (a known toxin)? It's true. It's amazing what companies put into their mascara just to make it last long, and to make you look pretty. Be sure to research the ingredients that you are using in your cosmetics. I recommend the Skin Deep Database, which rates the different ingredients on toxicity.
It's great to have beautiful lashes, just be sure you are being healthy about it. These tips should help!

Are people always looking above your eyes when you speak? Have people commented on your bushy eyebrows? Well, don't take a brow beating any longer. Follow these simple steps for shaping a brow that fits your face perfectly.
A great way to begin shaping your brow is to use a pencil as a guide (or anything similar to that) to determine where your brow should begin and where to arch your brow.
1. Place the pencil right off of the center of the tip your nose (off to the right for the right eye, and off to the left for the left eye) and hold it up to brow (this will create a straight line from your nose to your brow). This is where your brow should begin.
2. Now find where the color of your eye ends and align the pencil at this point to determine the arch of your brow.
3. After you have figured out where to begin and arch your brow, use an eyebrow pencil to draw different shapes over your brow to decide which looks best for your face. When you have drawn the perfect brow, you can then begin shaping the brow that falls outside of the line of the penciled brow.
4. As you begin plucking (or waxing), a magnifying glass will help you see those pesky fine hairs the natural eye won't catch.
5. Pluck one hair at a time as to avoid over-tweezing.
6. Follow the length of your eye, making sure to pluck any hairs off of the temple area.
7. The beginning of your brow should not be lower than the end of your brow.
8. Once you have completed shaping the brow, you should take a small brow brush (or old toothbrush) and brush the brow hairs straight up and trim any long hairs with a small scissors.
9. If you would still like to define your brow further after tweezing, you can also use an eyebrow pencil or powder to fill in your brow or to enhance the color of your brow.

Do you want to look great for a wedding, a New Year's Eve Party, graduation, or just that special night out? You may not be stepping on the red carpet today, but why not have the same beautiful tan that your favorite celebrity has? With professional spray tanning, you can.
Instead of worrying about the potentially damaging effects of the sun, you get an all natural sunless tan that lasts from 7 to 14 days. And you can have a tan as light or as dark as you want.
You can get a fantastic spray tan both at your favorite tanning salon and at home. Many salons now offer mobile spray tanning as an option.
So how do you maximize your tanning experience?
Prepare to Tan
If you've never spray tanned before, you'll probably want to try it once or twice before your special event. You'll find the optimal level for your skin color and with the help of your salon professional, decide how you look your best.
Once you know the date of your special event, book your spray tanning appointment one or two days in advance. And you'll want to shave or wax at least one day before your spray tan. Waxing will leave your pores open for several hours and may leave remnants of wax on your skin that could lead to an uneven looking tan.
Exfoliate your entire body the day before your spray tan. This removes any dead skin cells and helps extend your tan. Use a loofah or an exfoliating glove or mitt and concentrate on the driest areas of your body, such as knees, elbows, feet and ankles. Don't use an oil-based exfoliate, as these products may leave a residue that blocks the tan application.
The Day of Your Spray Tanning Appointment
Shower shortly before your appointment and don't apply any type of moisturizer to your body or face after showering. You'll also want to avoid any type of beauty product, including deodorant, body spray, perfume or makeup. Anything on your skin may block the tanning solution and prevent optimal absorption.
Wear loose fitting, dark clothing to your tanning session, just in case some of the tanning solution comes off onto your clothes on the way home. Don't worry, most tanning solution will come out in the wash.
And for women, you may want to go braless on the way home from your session. Wearing snug fitting clothing right after tanning can leave unwanted tan marks.
So what can you expect during the spray tanning process?
During Your Spray Tan
You may not want to wear anything at all during your session. Don't be shy, as the less you wear, the better your results. If you prefer to cover up a little, bring an old swimsuit or underwear.
Before beginning, your salon technician will consult with you briefly about your expected results and choose the right solution for your skin type. Application will take about 10 minutes and the solution will begin to dry immediately.
You'll find that your hands and feet appear lighter than the rest of your body, since those areas will develop more (become much darker) than other parts of your body.
How to Maintain a Long-lasting, Great-looking Tan
Wash only the palms of your hands prior to your first shower. Your salon technician will let you know how long to wait, based on the specific tanning product you're using. Usually, you'll want to wait at least 5 to 8 hours after your tanning session before taking that shower.
Keep the water temperature warm to cool, gently wash your body (without scrubbing), and pat yourself dry with a towel. It's normal to see some color run off during the shower, but that's mostly the bronzer used to calibrate the color of your tan.
Don't exercise until after that first post-tan shower. Avoid any activity that causes excessive sweating until the tan has a chance to develop.
Moisturizing your skin is the key to extending your spray tan. Ask your salon technician about skin hydrating products that can keep your tan from fading. You may also want to try a moisturizing enhancer, designed to prolong the life of your tan.
Any type of exfoliating product will cause the tan to fade more quickly. So you'll want to avoid shaving tanned areas for at least 48 hours following the tan application. And taking baths and soaking in hot tubs, saltwater and chlorinated pools will also shorten your tan.
Try these tips during your next spray tan and get ready to walk that red carpet. Your gorgeous, sun-kissed look will make you the envy of all your friends. And you'll look and feel beautiful on your special day.

A mobile phone is perhaps the most desired technological gadget today and people from all walks of life use it on a regular basis. It is indispensable and its popularity is rapidly increasing with newer innovations in its features. The shapes and the sizes are also going through drastic changes. Not to mention the price, that is constantly going southward because of stiff competition among several equally able companies from various nations. There are hundreds of models, and before one of the models gets old or people are used to it, a newer model adorns the selling basket with fresher glitz and appeal.
There are many among us who own more than one mobile phone handset. It is a natural phenomenon, as there are many sets with varied features, styles, designs, and colors. Personally speaking, I don't like those sets with flaps since I have heard somewhere that the flap system gets broke after some time due to casual usage. There are sets with bit of bulkiness, like few of business phone models that resemble mini computers on one's palm, rather equivalent to palmtops. There are sets with wide screen and generally attract attentions from everyone around. The looks of the mobile phones are getting sleeker and they are becoming slimmer with newer models. I am yet to own such a model but would like to have one in my pocket.
There are mobile phones that are costlier than laptops but those are usually adorned with expensive jewels and are mainly made on order for the celebrities. There are also mobile phones that are low priced and are made for a large section of the society, especially targeting the middle class families of the developing countries.
The general notion about the utility of a mobile phone has dramatically changed. Previously it was gauged on basis of connectivity and audibility features, but nowadays factors like megapixels, color resolution, gaming options, Bluetooth flexibility, MS-Office features, web connections etc determine one's decision when he thinks of buying a handset.
Nevertheless, this gadget is going pretty strong at present, and still the pet gizmo of millions of people around the world.

David Koma Autumn/Winter Collection 2011

OK, Boys and Girls, I need your honest opinion on this. This is about David Koma's autumn/winter collection 2011. For most people the outfits seem to give a positive impression, while for others, including me well, not so positive. Okay, before you judge me, take a look at the photos below.

I mean, I totally agree that when it comes to Fashion, a designer needs to be creative and highly professional in mixing colours, patterns etc. But mixing a style with another style? That's just a bit too demanding. Not many designers try this but like David here, here went all the way in. He created a total POP-ART look. The outfits seem very punk and hip, but does the whole mix and match really turned out to be something to talk about?

I love how David Koma says that he is designing clothes for strong and confident women. I love most of his ideas. Just like here, I love the shoes, the polka dots on the skirts and tops, the "face prints" on some of the tops. But do the fluffy pom-poms added to most of the outfits really want to say a HIT or a MISS?

So, basically I don't know what to think. Has the Designer pushed too far, or should I accept the fact that this is the future Fashion?
