Tricks of the Camera

Some of you may recall that I was giving a research talk last week.  It went well -- there were a lot more people in attendance than I anticipated, and I got asked some great questions.  M. showed up to listen to my talk and to capture some action shots with my our my DSLR.  However, that outfit was not meant to be captured for blogging posterity, as apparently the camera's memory card was in my card reader plugged into my laptop at home.  Ah well....  It was a great outfit (dress and blazer combo), but not so flashy that it took attention away from my presentation.

My camera was up to further tricks yesterday, as my first outfit shot came out spookily overexposed.
I had initially planned to wear this new-to-me vintage skirt for my research talk, but realized that morning that it was quite sheer in certain lights.  Since my black slip was in the dirty laundry basket under some foul smelling running clothes, I decided to nix the idea and save this skirt for a wearing this week.
(Skirt - Common Crow Vintage, Blouse - BCBG (remixed), Tank - New York & Co (remixed), Cardi - August Silk (remixed), Boots - John Fluevog (remixed), Ring - Boutique in San Diego (gift and remixed), Barette - Goody)
(Jacket - New York & Co. (remixed))
Do you steer away from sheer items when you'll be around students or colleagues?  For those of you who blog, do you take photos of all of your outfits?  Do you post every outfit that you record for posterity?

Oh, and American citizens, have you voted yet today????

P.S. Have you seen Cynthia's awesome copy cat rendition of my jeans + blazer ensemble?  She's lookin' mighty fine in some fabulous purple pants!
