Truncated?

After reading Kasmira's post yesterday about how much she dislikes blogs that truncate in readers, I got to wondering if Fashionable Academics does.   I have to admit that I'm not particularly technologically savvy (just ask my students about the conversation we had yesterday about Kindles and how I came off as a fool and a friend of Ned Ludd), but Hillary and Franca both told me that this blog does indeed truncate in Google Reader.  I changed the feed setting to full per Hillary's friendly instructions and hopefully that will fix the problem.  Please let me know if it doesn't.

I hadn't planned to post this outfit that I wore for teaching yesterday1 until next week, but, since I was standing on a tree trunk and I've never been able to resist dorky puns....

Yesterday my students and I were discussing literacy, book circulation in both print and manuscript forms, and censorship in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries and the Inquisition's Index of Prohibitied Books.  It was a pretty lively discussion because my students had just received an email about the ALA's most contested books of 2009 so I started the discussion by asking them to compare the reasons books are contested now versus why they were prohibited then.

All this has made me curious about your readership.  How often do you read for fun?  What do you read for fun?  How many blogs do you read, and what causes you to read a blog or to stop reading a blog?

Oh, and if some of you who read via Google Reader wouldn't mind letting me know: is the blog still showing up as truncated in your feed?
