Or you might like a dark table, but if your living room does not get much sunlight, light colored furniture would help brighten up the room. However, a dark wooden coffee table would lend a much richer, complete look to a traditionally decorated living room. Of course, you decide which style you buy in the end, but keeping with your home's style will help ensure you still love your table in the future.

Finally, what size should your piece be? A pretty standard size for coffee tables is about 18" high, but you want to buy the one that is most comfortable for you and your family. The traditional height for a table is one that is even with or a couple of inches lower than the sofa or chair seats.
