Greece is an amazing country to visit. Rich with history, art and architecture, the culture is ripe for discovery. The landscape and seaside offer limitless sightseeing opportunities. It's the perfect place for a destinations holiday at these top 10 places.

Athens

Theater, festivals, and educational excursions can be found in Athens. Soak up ancient history at the Acropolis and the Parthenon, the symbol of the Greek early empire. The National Archeological Museum in Athens, with its amazing cylindrical tomb shafts and lion gate, preserves a statue of Poseidon, a famous Greek God.

Crete

The largest island in Greece and home to the ancient Minoan civilization, Crete's beauty is unsurpassed. Archeological finds abound on this ancient island. The island retains a separate dialect, and has its own customs and music that are fun to see first hand.

Mykonos

Mykonos is the party capital of Greece. It has a divers and lively nightlife, sophisticated restaurants and amazing shopping areas. The beaches are Greece's best, with miles of beautiful sand and beautiful sunsets. Take time to visit the windmills of Mykonos, or the all white Church of the Panagia.

Rhodes

This island is located in the southeastern part of the Aegean Sea, and is home to one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The Colossus of Rhodes was a statue erected for the victory over Cypress. It's also home to one of the best preserved medieval towns in Europe, and is a fun and educational place to visit.

Samothrace

Samothrace is an outdoor lovers dream. Tourists here hike the mountain called Mountain Saos, and enjoy bathing in pools the river creates. Check out the Winged Victory of Samothrace. A ferry must be taken to the island, as there is no airport.

Dion

Dion is a small town at the foot of Mount Olympus, Greece's largest mountain. This mountain is home to Greece's National Park and home to a bio reserve. Mountain climbers from all over the world come to hike Mount Olympus for its beauty and natural landscape.

Thessaloniki

Thessaloniki is a second largest city in Greece is an educational town populated with students and it's a major transportation hub for the area. This city features much to see, from the famous architecture of Aristotelous Square to the many festivals held here each year.

Delphi

Delphi is rich with history. The ancient Pythian Games were held here in Apollo's sacred precinct, the model for the modern Olympic games. Apollo is an important figure in Delphi, and was worshipped as a God.

Rounding out the top 10 places to see in Greece are the islands of Santorini and the Ionian Islands. The Ionian islands are known for the lush vegetation and beautiful beaches. It also has an established nightlife. Santorini has lots of winding roads to follow-up to white houses that hang on the cliffs above the beach. Good food, water sports and tons of sun are waiting for you here.
