Weekly Works Cited 7/9/10

I should be landing in Venice right about now.   My husband and I are spending the next ten days in Venice, Sienna, Florence, and Rome.  But I didn't want to jet off without leaving you some interesting reads from this week, so I scheduled this post.

First the bad news -- although it's definitely not new news.  If you're an aspiring academic but haven't landed a tenure track job, the Chronicle suggests that chances are you won't.  It's doom and gloom all around.  It really makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

But life goes on even if the tenure system is sputtering:

This is a repost, but it's a great one.  Already Pretty suggests that we make an effort to wear our most beloved pieces whenever and wherever, that we wear them all the time.
