Weekend Wear: Boho Chic Redux

Right now I'm in Italy on my honeymoon, but I scheduled this post and a couple of others for while I'm gone.  Last weekend AUH and I met up to see Eclipse, and then we picked up M. to go out to eat Mexican food, drink wine, and eat amazing macaroons.  It was a warm day (although this was before we moved into hellish heat wave weather), but I always freeze at the movie theater so I felt the need to throw on a cardi.1
1. Dress - Anthro (via Ebay and remixed), Cardi - Target, Shoes - Franco Sarto (remixed), Necklace - Self-made (remixed), Purse - Nine West, Sunnies - Oscar de la Renta (remixed), Barette - ???

At the risk of alienating those readers who are fans of the Twilight series, I have to admit that AUH and I went to this movie because we expected to see some shirtless Taylor Lautner and to giggle at moments where the writers/directors/actors did not intend for us to.  This is what I did when I watched Twilight and what AUH and I did when we went to see New Moon together back in the fall.  I've read on the interwebs that a lot of fans of the book series have been disappointed with this movie for not following the book as well the other two movies.  I actually thought this movie was the best of the three.  In fact, I was impressed with it considering the foundation that it had to work with.

I won't go into great detail here, but I will say that the whole Edward/Bella/Jacob love triangle doesn't work for me, and all of these relationships are emotionally if not physically abusive.  Edward is a creepy stalker.  And age may just be a number, but talk about a great grandfather complex.  Jacob is little better.  He's a controlling asshole, too, who doesn't respect Bella's decisions.  The Buffy vs. Edward video pretty much sums up my feelings about the Twilight series.  And the fact that high school kids are now biting each other to express their love -- or just to announce the fact that they're going out -- is really fucking disturbing.

The only thing positive that I can say about the series is that Bella does seem to do her homework.  Have you seen Eclipse?  What did you think?  Are you a fan of the series?
