Hands-on with Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1

The folks at MobileBurn takes a look at the new updated Galaxy Tab 10.1 Android Honeycomb tablet that was revealed at CTIA 2010. The Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1 is the bigger brother of the Galaxy Tab, featuring a 10.1″ display 1GHz dual-core processor, Android 3.0 and an 3MP camera that can record video in HD.

Shortly after that leak of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1″ specs, now there are new pictures of the new tablet and the Galaxy S2 smartphone, too.
Along with these pics comes confirmation of those specs we reported on earlier — the 10.1-inch Galaxy Tab has an 8-megapixel camera with HD recording and playback, 1200 x 800 resolution, and runs the Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) OS.

If you are someone that loves technology a lot and you would like to make sure that you will always get the newest devices on the market, then you will certainly need to know a lot of things before you will buy them, because maybe you will not need some extra features that will probably add up to the final price. When it comes to the android tablet, this is a device that more and more people are starting to fall in love with. The one that has caused this hysteria over tablets is Apple, when it has released the Apple iPad just last year.

Apple practically saw that the market had a gap which was created by the fact that there were too many people that were using desktop PCs and laptops and Apple thought that it would be great to create something that is more mobile and also powers a very good screen and good performance. This tablet had to be good for social networks, internet browsing and watching videos and that is how these tablets got to be created.

When it comes to tablets, they are very similar to a computer from many points of view and they feature a flat screen that is similar to that of a laptop. There is no keyboard by the way and you will only be able to make use of an onscreen keyboard, which will decrease your typing speed a lot of you are used to typing on a normal keyboard. So, if you will ever want to watch videos or browse some interesting favorite websites, you will be able to do that by using the touch screen.

Yet, if you will take a look on the market nowadays, you will see that there are actually a lot of models to choose form and you might get a little confused on which model you need to buy for your needs. In order to make sure you will make a great choice, you will first need to take a look at your needs, the screen size of the tablet and the how powerful it is.

First of all, when I said needs, I referred to you as being actually someone that loves to surf the internet a lot. If you are someone that has been using a laptop many times and you have seen that it ran out of battery right in the middle of your lecturing of a cool blog, then you will need to get a tablet as soon as possible.

If you want to watch movies a lot, then you will certainly need to get one that is very much employing a large screen. The largest screen that a tablet can be found having is ten inches, which I bet that is enough for your needs. Make sure that based on your needs, you will take a look at all of the tablet manufacturers out there, so that you will not have to resort to buying one that is very expensive. Some tablets might offer exactly what you need and come at a cheaper price.

Comparing iPhone 4 vs. the smartphone elite: EVO 4G, N8, Pre Plus, and HD2

We know how the iPhone 4 sizes up against the aging 3GS -- but how does it fare against its fiercest competitors from all the major platforms? We wish we had some production Windows Phone 7 kit to check out here, but in the meantime, take a look at the results against the gruesome foursome of the EVO 4GN8Pre Plus, and HD2. You might be surprised by some of the results -- and sorry, RIM, you don't get to play until you bring some fresh, media-heavy hardware to the table. Nothing personal!
iPhone 4 launch timing coincides with the end of many unlimited data plans — including AT&T’s. Unless you’re grandfathered it with an existing plan, that is.

Here are the results (from most to least) for the “unlimited” plans:
  • Incredible: $3,079
  • iPhone 4: $2,959
  • Evo 4G: $2,839
  • Nexus One: $2,440
