How To Apply Lipstick on You

How To Apply Lipstick on You

By Amna Bibi

When it comes to looking beautiful, one thing that should be kept in mind seriously is the lipstick and its correct usage. From the lipsticks' colours matching the theme of the occasion to the tones, shades and its application, all this matters a lot to have a perfect beautiful look in you. Besides all this, the age should also be considered as the colours of the lipsticks differ from that of young girls to grown up women.

The big question then comes that if one gets all these things right from the shades to the curves and all, then how to actually apply that in perfect manner to get the maximum look. Well, its simple. The thing to keep in mind is that the lipsticks are used to beautify, and if not done in the right manner than that looks rather ugly. So before you put on your lipstick you must clean your lips with a swab which is dipped a little with cleansing milk and gently clean your lips with that. Soaps should never be used for this, because the lips have very soft skin.

Then comes putting on the foundation creme, and after it dries, you should first make an outline with a lip liner and then move on to fill in the lipstick of the colour that you want to use according to the theme of the occasion. If somehow, your lipstick spreads out, then you must cover that with use of powder in that area. Usually those who are not practiced with the use of the brush, which requires an expert, they end up spreading it out of their lips.

Another trick to avoid any mistake in applying the lipstick is the use of a dressing table when preparing your self. In this way, you can rest your elbow on the table while you apply the lipstick, and that will not let your hands shake. After you are done with applying the lipstick, then you should keep a tissue with which you can wipe out the extra bit to make the colour just the way you want.

These are some of the simplest ways to apply the lipsticks correctly. Using these tips will help you make your desired look come true. So go for it and have a good time at the party or whatever occasion you want to prepare to yourself for. You will definitely find yourself unbelievable.

5 Simple Skin Care Tips For Teenage Girls Wearing Make Up

5 Simple Skin Care Tips For Teenage Girls Wearing Make Up

Author: John Burrow

Skin problems is one of the major health problems that teenage girls have to deal with. At a time where your looks really matter a lot its important that you look your best. Bad skin can affect more than your social life. Although it should not, it does tend to affect self esteem and the way you feel about yourself. While there are certain things, like hormones, that you cannot do anything about the vast majority of skin issues is within your control and you can do something about it..

Make up can have a great influence on your skin and the health of your skin. For many young girls its something new on their skin and sometimes the reaction can be negative - especially if there are chemicals in the products. With that in mind, here are 5 simple tips to help you stay healthy and keep your skin clear and beautiful.

1. Try to always buy make up and skin care products that are made from natural products. Chemical based products are usually much cheaper but they tend to be much harsher on your skin and can often lead to skin problems.

2. Always test new make up before you use it. Use a bit on your ear lobes or under your chin and leave it for a few hours to see how your skin reacts to it. This is important when you try out new products for the first time and even when its "safe and natural" you should still test how your skin will react to it.

3. Always check the expiry date of any product you buy. This also means that you should use it before the expiry date. There is a good reason why products expire and usually its because they are no longer safe to use after that date. Often time when products are on sale they have a short shelf life left, so be careful.

4. Never apply too much make up - especially when your skin is prone to zits and acne. Sometimes it seems like a good idea to cover up bad spots but too much make up can actually make this problem worse.

5. Always clean your face properly before you go to bed. Make up can irritate your skin and you need to allow your skin enough "breathing time" while you are sleeping. Make sure you clean is off completely with a good facial cleanser.

3 Essential Beauty Tips for Men

3 Essential Beauty Tips for Men

By David Light

It may sound strange to be discussing beauty tips for men, but men are just as concerned about their appearance as women. However, they may not be aware that there are many helpful ways to enhance the impression they portray to others. This is not only important when enjoying the company of women, but also vital for business and social settings. Here are three essential beauty tips for men that one would be amiss to ignore.

1. Physical Grooming -- The first area that should receive attention is physical grooming. Men often feel that the daily shower and shave process is all the cleansing needed. This is not true. Everyone, men and women alike should pay special attention to good facial cleansing morning and night, including weekly facial masks to cleanse pores to prevent blackheads. This is definitely not an exclusive feminine grooming need. Following thorough cleansing, trim or otherwise remove any wild hairs on the eyebrows, nose and ears. Most barbers perform this trim as part of the regular haircut, but the need will often arise between barber visits.

Concerning the shaving process, another tip is important. Men should either be cleanly shaven or wear a neatly trimmed beard. The stubble look portrays a look of laziness and is no longer fashionable. Experiment with aftershaves and colognes to find the right fragrance for your body chemistry. Men should always smell nice, but the wrong or too strong a fragrance will be offensive.

2. Cosmetics (You Heard Me!) -- The next area of beauty tips for men may be surprising. Most men think that wearing makeup is not even to be considered. However, there are makeup products made especially for men and one of the most popular is called a guyliner, which is regularly used by many celebrities. Using a small amount of dark eye shadow on the eye lids will emphasize your eyes and produce a smoky and sexy look. If you have uneven skin tone on your face, a little foundation can be used to blend away the blotchy look. And keep a tube of lip balm with you at all times to keep your lips moist, especially if you hope a date will end with a goodnight kiss.

3. Context-Driven Style -- No list of tips would be complete without addressing clothing. The most important consideration is the type of occasion for which you will dressing, from an elegant restaurant, a serious business meeting or a movie date. Every man should possess at least one high quality suit, with appropriate shirts and ties. If you are unsure of the right style, enlist the help of knowledgeable staff at a fine clothing shop. Clothing does not have to be expensive, just well fitting and stylish, but the correct clothing is certainly worth the price. When dressing, to help ensure you are wrinkle free, hang your clothing in the bathroom while you shower. The steam will remove any wrinkles.

Incorporating a few of these beauty tips for men into your daily regimen will make you stand out in a positive way and give you the natural confidence that will make you look good as well as feel good.

The Gentleman's Guide to Skin Care

The Gentleman's Guide to Skin Care

Author: Tiffany Windhurst

Proper skin care and nourishment is just as important for a man as it is for a woman. In fact, in many ways, it's more important.

Not only are men more likely to perspire, they tend to pick up more oil, dirt and other contaminants. The daily ritual of shaving can dry out the skin, as it strips away natural moisture and can lead to chafing and roughness. Even men with facial hair can be prone to clogged pores and hair follicles, which can lead to breakouts, rough skin, irritations and sometimes possible infections.

Luckily, following a skin care regime is really quite simple. The three basic steps are cleansing, moisturizing and protecting.

Cleansing: Wash your face twice a day with a mild, soap free cleanser. If you are prone to oily or dry skin, products that are made for these problems are obviously the best choice. When you wash, start by rinsing the face with hot water. Rub the cleanser on in circular motions to help penetrate the pores and gently massage and exfoliate. This will prevent the build up of dirt in the pores. Once you're done cleansing, splash your face with cold water at least ten times. This will close the open pores, making it difficult for dirt to find its way in.

Moisturizing: There are moisturizers specifically designed for use by men. You should always apply a light moisturizer after washing to help replenish and nourish the skin. Facial skin can be prone to bouts of dryness, especially when exposed to weather, sports, heavy persperation and so on. There is nothing rugged or handsome about dry skin.

Protect: Sunburn causes discoloured areas of skin, can lead to skin cancer and other diseases, as well as causing skin to flake and peel. A good sunblock should be applied even for short excursions in the sun. Men often forget to reapply after heavy activity, so keep a bottle handy to reapply after cutting the grass, swimming or playing sports. Again, perspiration can wash away the sunblock, so always have some on hand to protect your skin.

Neglecting your skin is not a guy thing, it's a silly thing. Your face will stay with you throughout your life, so you should be taking steps to keep it looking its best at all times.

How to Look Slimmer

How to Look Slimmer

Author: Tiff Windhurst

Does this make me look fat? While your spouse may roll their eyes when you ask that question, it's actually a valid query.

Certain styles and colour will draw attention to pudgy areas, while others will give our bodies more flow, allowing us to look slimmer. If you want to look a little lighter than you are, it's a matter of highlighting the good areas and detracting from the thicker areas.

Black is Slimming: This old wive's tale is completely true. And it's not exclusive to just black. Dark, solid colours, such as black, navy blue or dark brown have a slimming effect and make you appear thinner. You should avoid heavy patterns, especially horizontal stripes. The stripes actually add width to your body and make you appear larger.

The Right Shoes: Your shoes are an important part of your wardrobe. They complement the legs, and the style is key to completing the look you desire. Wearing shoes that are the same colour as what's dressing your legs, be it pants or pantyhose, will elongate your legs and make them appear slimmer. Short ended round or square toed shoes can make you look stubby, whereas long pointed toes will continue the thinning look.

Skinny Jewels: Jewelry can attract attention and broaden a slim face or narrow down a large face. Long dangling jewels are the best accessory choice to reduce the look of broadness. Earrings that hang straight and low are preferable to large chunky styles or oversized circles. The same holds true for necklines, as long necklaces will give you length where as bulky beads will make you look wider.

Finally, the most important part of maintaining a slimmer appearance is standing correctly. Stand straight and tall, with correct posture. Slouching will make you look bulkier, so always stand and walk straight, with your head up, arms at your sides (not crossed) and eyes forward.

Caring for Your Manicure

Caring for Your Manicure

Author: T. Windhurst

If you've spent a great deal of time and effort preparing and polishing your nails so they look fabulous, you should put forth just as much effort in maintaining and caring for your manicure.

Painted nails look best when they are shiny and freshly polished. Once nail polish starts to chip, crack or flake it detracts from the glamourous look you started with. Keeping your nails and cuticles looking their best simply means knowing when and how to apply touch ups, and when to start fresh.

While applying your polish to your nails, be sure to wait about five to ten minutes between coats. This allows the finish to harden and will prevent pulling or smudging. Applying layers too quickly means the polish itself takes longer to dry, which is why nails end up creased or smudged.

A little nail polish remover on a cotton swab is a great way to spot touch any minor mistakes. If you've painted onto the cuticle or the edge of your finger, gently dab it away.

A small chip in your nail polish can usually be covered by applying an extra coat to the nail. Do one or two layers over the chipped area, then apply a full coat to the entire nail to keep everything looking smooth and seamless.

After about a week it's time for a fresh coat. Fingernails are constantly growing, so it's important to remove old polish before it looks haggard. Furthermore, it's important to give your nails a little air, which they don't get if they are constantly covered with nail polish.

When you are preparing to apply a new coat, that's the best time to shape, file and trim your nails. Don't forget to push back or trim your cuticles as needed. Applying a little oil or moisturizer to the clean nail and cuticle will keep your nails richly hydrated and strong.

Of-course, we can't forget the best advice for beautiful nails: no chewing and no biting!

Perfect Mascara Every Time

Perfect Mascara Every Time

Author: Tiffany Windhurst

The last thing you do for your eye make up is generally the mascara. It's almost a shame, because you need to do it last to cover any powder that's fallen onto the lash, and yet, if you make a mistake you'll ruin the whole look and have to start over.

The secret to good mascara is finding the right mascara that does everything you want it to do. Choosing the brand, colour or style that your sister or friend uses may not give you the results that are best for you.

Before buying mascara, decide what you want it to do. Are you looking for long, thick lashes, or just a clean and distinct set to offset your eyes. The type of mascara you buy will determine how it looks. Volumizing, lengthening and so on, the benefits of each product is written on the package. So, don't buy what you don't want.

The type of brush you apply it with is also important. If you want thick lashes, use a thick brush with lots of closely set teeth. If you want definition in your lashes, choose a brush that has long, wide set teeth. Much like the type of mascara you use defines the look, the right brush makes all the difference.

If your eyes are sensitive and you don't want mascara bleeding into them, use a wax based mascara, (commonly waterproof mascaras). If your eyes are normal, then you should use water soluble mascaras. They may not be waterproof, but they do come water resistant. The benefit of water based mascara is that its less likely to streak and it's easy to take off, especially if you do make a mistake.

When it comes to mascara, black is always best. If your lashes are really blond, you can get away with a brown or brown-black coloured mascara, otherwise, basic black extends the lengthening effect of mascara. It's also easier to maintain and is less likely to make slight clumps stand out conspicuously.

Once you find the right mascara and the best brush to get the look you want, you'll have perfect mascara every time.

Hair Care Tips

HAIR CARE TIPS

Here are some tips that could help you stretch your beauty budget

Go to a hair dresser that has a salon built onto her house. Her prices should be very reasonable. Check the price of a color, haircut, deep conditioning and a blow dry.

Choose a style that lasts a while between cuttings and doesn't require a lot of styling products.

Choose hairstyles to work with rather than against your hair type.

To make my shampoo go further, keep an empty bottle in the shower next to the current bottle of shampoo you are using. When you are ready to lather up, squirt a SMALL amount of shampoo into the empty bottle and then add a 'shot' of water and shake it lightly. This distributes the shampoo over your hair more evenly, while using less. It also lathers up much faster than doing it the conventional way.

Collect complimentary and sample bottles and packages of hair care products and send them along when going on short trips. This is especially good for kids who tend to forget to bring things home.

Find a beauty school or college in your area. For simple perms and cuts, they are just fine and much less expensive then the traditional salon.

Give up perms, hair-coloring and highlighting. Let your hair grow to below your shoulders and get a friend to trim it straight across every few months. Trim your own bangs, if you have them. Long hair can be worn down, in a ponytail, in a braid, in a French braid, or up in a bun. It doesn't have to be blown dry or curled or set. And without chemicals, coloring, and heat, it can repair itself and look shiny and healthy. Beautiful! Easy! Feminine! Cheap!

Instead of using the expensive detangle products from the store, make a homemade version using 1 part conditioner to 10 parts water. Then put it into a recycled pump hair spray bottle. It works wonderfully.

Most hair does not benefit from daily washing with shampoo or from being washed twice in one bathing as some shampoo manufacturers suggest. Actually, doing these things can dry out your hair and scalp and make them prone to other problems. Find the least expensive shampoo that works for your hair, and use it only as often and in the quantity that is necessary to keep your hair healthy and manageable.

SKIN CARE TIPS

After applying the foundation, the next step is color. To use cream blush, dot on the apples of the cheeks. Don't forget to "smile" and blended back towards the ear so it looks real. Then dot a little on the lips, color permitting and even on the eyelids, blended of course.

If you really want to feel healthier and younger, a dewy look that's believable is the key. Are you happier with powdered blush? Then apply cream blush first on cheeks, and then a little bit of colored blush on top. This will take longer, but by setting with blush rather than powder, you can check off a step.

Eye Care Tips

Apply your eye shadow on wet. Use toner that is alcohol free, an Eyeliner Sealer or just plain old water. Use a sponge applicator or an eye shadow brush to brush on a light layer of toner/water across the eyelid or in the crease over the eye shadow. The trick is to mist the eye shadow, not drench it. Or you can dampen the applicator/brush first, then pick up your color. That way, you avoid drenching the product and possibly even ruining it. Also, this will insure that you will pick up the right amount of color.

Pretty Women Tips

13 Assumptions We Make About Pretty Women

http://elkoubi.files.wordpress.com/2006/10/jessy-schram.jpg

Have you ever met a drop-dead, gorgeous, this-person’s-face-could-launch-a-thousand-ships woman? Then you may dig this article I read on The Gloss called “Do You Ever Hate Women Because They’re Beautiful?” Jennifer Wright sees a Victoria’s Secret model coming out of her apartment building (she either lives there or has a friend/partner there) and of course the doorman and men in the lobby are falling over themselves. “And my first thought,” Wright writes, “was ‘f**k you, bitch, I hate you.’”

OK, it’s not the most sensitive — or rational — of responses. (Wright acknowledges it’s “a stupid, pre-feminist cliche to hate someone because they’re prettier than you are.”) Jealousy makes us feel this way, of course. But I think those of us who have “I hate you” moments also make a lot of assumptions about beautiful women.

I checked with my fellow Frisky bloggers and here’s some of the assumptions we’ll cop to having made about the Giseles, Angelinas, and Tyras of the world:

  1. She’s dumb.
  2. Anything she’s accomplished, it was because she’s pretty.
  3. She’s confident.
  4. She can have any guy she wants!
  5. She’s straight.
  6. She barely eats to maintain her perfect figure.
  7. She’s never had her heart broken.
  8. She’s never lonely.
  9. She’s boring and has nothing interesting to say.
  10. She looks just like that when she wakes up in the morning.
  11. She always flies first class.
  12. That guy is only with her because she’s hot, not because she could be a really nice person or hilariously funny.
  13. She thinks she’s beautiful

Of course, that Victoria’s Secret model in Wright’s building could have a chronic disease, or a parent who is dying, or a painful love life. We simply don’t know: we just assume her life is perfect because she has the type of body society tells us we’re supposed to want.

Lips Care

Lipstick

Lipstick is a cosmetic product containing pigments, oils, waxes, and emollients that applies color and texture to the lips. There are many varieties of lipstick. As with most other types of makeup, lipstick is typically, but not exclusively, worn by women. It is usually not worn until adolescence or adulthood.

History

Women in the ancient Indus Valley Civilization applied lipstick to their lips for face decoration.Ancient Egyptians extracted purplish-red dye from focus-align, 0.01% iodine, and some bromine Mannie, which resulted in serious illness. Cleopatra had her lipstick made from crushed carmine beetles, which gave a deep red pigment, and ants for a base.

During the Islamic Golden Age the notable Arab Andalusian cosmetologist Abu al-Qasim al-Zahrawi (Abulcasis) invented solid lipsticks, which were perfumed stocks rolled and pressed in special molds, and he described them in his Al-Tasrif.In Medieval Europe, lipstick was banned by the church and was thought to be used as an ‘incarnation of Satan’,cosmetics being ‘reserved’ for prostitutes. Lipstick started to gain popularity in England the 16th century, during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I, who made piercing red lips and bright white faces a fashion statement. By that time, lipstick was made from a blend of beeswax and red stains from plants.

Although like most makeup its open use fell from favour in Victorian times, by at least 1912 fashionable American women had come to consider lipstick acceptable: though an article in the New York Times advised on the need to apply it cautiously.Complete acceptance in England may have been slower, but appears to have arrived for the fashionable Londoner at least by 1921.

Beauty Guidance

10 best beauty tips

We’ll make this quick: you’re time starved, and you’re looking for ways to get out the door looking pretty and polished that take a hot minute. Or you’re just really, really lazy. Either way, we feel you. Here are 10 time savers to get you gorgeous so you can save more minutes for living a beautiful life.

  1. Tinted Moisturizer with SPF. With one swipe, you get hydrated skin, a sheer wash of color, and protection from the ultimate ager, the sun.
  2. Convertible color. Instead of juggling separate lipsticks, blush, and eye shadow, choose a single chubby stick or pot of color that prettifies all over.
  3. Brighten eyes. Use a bit of highlighter on the inner corners of your eyes and coat lashes with a glossy, lengthening mascara for a bright-eyed look. Also try using a white eye pencil on the inner rims of eyes.
  4. Conditioner as shaving cream. Coat the bottom half of your strands with conditioner, and while it’s doing the work of penetrating your dry strands with moisture, use another squirt to shave your legs.
  5. Fix a self-tanner gaffe. Dip a cotton ball in lemon juice and run over streaky areas — lemon juice is a natural exfoliator and skin lightener.
  6. Super fast dry hair. Blow dry your hair from underneath, rather than aiming the nozzle at the top strands first. Flip your head over or clip top layers up.
  7. 2-in-1. Use a combo cleanser and toner on your face, hydrating body washes in the shower (so you can skip lotion), exfoliating body washes, and a shampoo-conditioner combo.
  8. Basic hair with a boost. You only have time for a ponytail or bun. Dress it up with a headband, tease a little volume at the crown, add a blingy barrette, or wrap a piece of your own hair around the ponytail holder for some polish points.
  9. Make a blow-out last. Sleep with it in a high, loose ponytail and dust with dry shampoo when it starts to look a little greasy.
  10. Nice nails. When you step out of the shower, rub a bit of olive oil into the nail bed and cuticles to heal delicate, raggedy skin.

Beauty Tips

  • Whenever in the kitchen, you can rub lemon peel from the pulp side on your face to get rid of the grease and can apply any fruit juice on face with a cotton roll. You can wash it off after few minutes.

How to Look Pretty

Sometimes I wonder if women prefer to look pretty for men, other women,
society, out of habit, out of expectation, or for themselves. I believe that
everybody, men and women, should care about their looks for themselves.
Yes, a few compliments here and there are always welcome, but dressing
for the compliments, is simply stupid, right! Anyways, whatever your
reasons may be, I – thy humble writer, am here to help you look pretty.
How to Look Pretty: Step 1
So, you are rushing to get to work, college or school. You are running
out of time and you overslept. I would call that the perfect catastrophe
for people who take time to get dressed, but like to be punctual. For
such people who want to know how to look pretty, fast! Well, it is
simple, make sure you comb your hair well. No knots and everything
in place. Wash your face well and brush your teeth. Take a shower
and use a good deodorant or perfume. Put on clothes that suit you,
and that you are comfortable in. Wear your gorgeous smile, and
head off to your destination.
How to Look Pretty: Step 2
Isn’t it just disastrous when you have just woken up and walked out
of your door to take your paper. At that serendipitous time is when
the neighborhood’s hottie and your latest crush also decides to walk
out and see you. Now, if you had flawless skin and good hair, you
would have really not worried about it, right? So, how to always
look pretty? Here’s one very simple beauty tip; Don’t do anything
to look pretty. All women are born with a beautiful face, you are no
exception. So, stop trying so hard to look pretty and give your true face
a chance to work the magic. Keep your skin clean and healthy.
How to Look Pretty: Step 3
Do you think that no matter how well you are dressed, and no matter
how expensive your jewelry, you will look pretty with a frown on
your face? I don’t think so, a personal survey recently established
that even if a woman wears the best clothes or frequents the most
happening places, she will not be considered pretty if she does not
smile and greet people well. Smile when you greet people, and treat
everyone with respect and love. Talk with love and make sure you
smile and laugh.

9 Habits that will shrink your middle

1. Calm down. Too much stress can contribute to a potbelly. Stress

increases levels of cortisol, a hormone that seems to direct fat to our

middle, says Dr. Natasha Shahid, PhD, of the National Institute of

Public Health in Bilthoven, Netherlands. To keep levels low, try this

5- to 10-minute stress reducer: Find a quiet, comfortable place to

sit. Next, take several slow, deep breaths to help clear your mind.

Continue breathing deeply and repeat the word one to yourself as

you exhale.

2. Skip the alcohol for a week or so. That glass of wine with

dinner may be part of the reason your jeans are too tight. Alcohol

also tends to raise cortisol levels, sending fat to your belly,

Dr.Natasha Shahid says.

3.Stop smoking. “It keeps me thin,” proclaim many smokers.

But the truth is that smokers tend to have more abdominal fat

than nonsmokers, says Natasha. (The stress hormone cortisol

seems to be the culprit here too.) “When people stop smoking,

the amount of abdominal fat actually decreases,”Dr Natasha

Shahid Of America says.

4. Eat more fiber. Not only is fiber great for overall weight loss

(it fills you up so you don’t eat as much), but it also prevents

constipation, which can cause your tummy to bulge, says

Lawrence J. Cheskin, MD, a gastroenterologist and director of

the Johns Hopkins Weight Management Center in Baltimore.

To stay regular, aim for 22 to 25 g of fiber a day by eating more

whole grains, fruits, and vegetables.

5. Drink up. For premenstrual bloating, drink lots and lots of water.

This will actually help flush away bloating, not make it worse.

6. Keep bones strong. Osteoporosis can lead to fractured bones

in your spine, causing you to slump. That shortens your abdominal

cavity, giving your belly no place to go but out, says Dr.Natasha Shahid.

MD, psychiatrist in chief emeritus at the New York Hospital-Cornell

Medical Center in New York City. Be sure to get 1,000 mg of calcium

every day from the foods you eat and/or from supplements.

7. Get your heart rate up. All the ab exercises in the world won’t

do a thing unless you get rid of the fat hiding your abdominal muscles.

The best way is to do aerobic exercise for 45 to 60 minutes,

5 times a week.

8. Tuck your tummy. Imagine there’s a magnet pulling your belly

button back toward your spine. Practice the tuck until it becomes

comfortable, and soon it will come naturally–like breathing. Do

it every chance you get.

9. Get a bonus ab workout. Stand as much as possible when

doing weight-lifting exercises. That way your abs work too. “They

help to balance and stabilize your body,” says Tammy Strunk, an

Emmaus, PA, fitness instructor. Concentrate on keeping your abs

tight and maintaining good posture, but don’t ho;d your breath.
