A day for me….

So this past week I have been at a work conference and much to my surprise we were given an afternoon and evening off. What is a girl to do? Normally I would use the time to catch up on all my emails and work related stuff instead I took the company up on their offer to pay for a day at the spa. So I, being 5 and ½ months pregnant, had a Prego massage and a facial. It was sheer heaven! I was pampered for nearly 2 and a half hours. After which I went to the pool for some much needed sun on my lily white body. I am sure that someone poolside thought for a moment they were in Fl at Seas world and not at the Bellagio due to the Shamu sighting on the poolside deck!

I realized as I took a few hours for me how much I missed my me time. Sure my me time use to be running but since being pregnant I have not been able to have that. So it was nice to take care of me for a change. I swear this place was like right out of a movie set.

Airlines still just don’t get it.....….

So here I sit on my flight from Phoenix Arizona to Omaha Nebraska. My ass hurts my legs are cramped, the flight attendant who is not a small person has bumped into me at least 3 times and looks at me like I am some obtruding monster in my seat and I still, as the captain so politely said, have “689 nautical miles” which equates to another half and a half of pain.

Ironically, I was reading Marlee Matiln's new book “I’ll Scream Later” I am going to do my screaming now because this my friends is sheer torture for a 5’9” 5 month pregnant woman. The man in the seat in front of me has all the leg room he could hope for as he is sitting in an exit row (yes I am bitter) add to that he has decided to recline his seat all the way back into my lap. He is so close to me that he either needs to ask me for a date or become my new gynecologist!!! The seat upon which my already big and growing ass is sitting in has no cushion. So not only does my airline not provide me blankets or pillows anymore they also have decided to skimp on the fluff for my seat cushion, Lord help me if I am truly suppose to use this as a floatation device because I will surely sink since all I will be holding on to is a board.

Every flight I have been on in the last 2 weeks has been oversold hence meaning totally full we are crammed in like cattle and most have little to no flying etiquette like the moron in front of me that insists on trying to push his seat back even further every couple of minutes. I know that times are tough and airlines have felt the pinch like all other industries but would it kill them to service the planes they do have??? I mean please a least making all of their always-sold seat a little more comfortable? Maybe take a seat or 2 out? The idea of paying nearly $500 for a seat only to be miserable is enough to make me want to take the train next time even if it takes me 3 days to get where I need to go.

If your reading this my journey finally came to an end and my feet are safely back on the ground where I hopefully can find room to move and breathe. So tell me have you flown recently and was it as miserable as I have described above??

Still here…just not here

So I have been absent for a bit do to my hectic work and life schedule. I swear at times I think my life is secretly being filmed and at any moment I will break through the set and find my life to be like that of Drew Carey from the Truman show.

Last week I was away on business from Monday to late Wednesday worked a full and I mean full day Thursday only to work from home on Friday so I could squeeze in a needed Dr appt with my OB.

This weekend flew by with soccer and soccer team pictures and the need to get ready for my next business trip which I am on now. Yes, while I am flying I am blogging about my life. I'm telling you this is the stuff sitcoms are made of. I will be out of town this week thru Thursday only to arrive home and take a conference call then see my kids and head off to a non kid friendly family wedding Friday to Saturday in NJ. Ah but is doesn't end there I am then headed to Vegas again for work, for our National Sales conference only saving grace in that trip is that there will be some down time for me (I hope)

My brother-in-law said while we were visiting for Easter “geez you guys fight to see who gets to go to work” sadly that has been our life the last 2 months and I am stating to question it. Starting to question, am I doing the right thing by my kids and the one on the way. The next few months should be very telling in that regard.

Speaking of baby girl Whalen I finally broke down and bought her some stuff. I left my appointment on Friday thinking "my gosh I am over half way there and I have yet to buy a thing what happen if she comes early. "So I picked up a case of diapers, a case of wipes, cloth diapers (great burping cloths) a couple of sleepers, a package of onzies and a hat and booties. I'm ready now ….right???? Below are my finds I think I need to get my but in gear and start thinking about getting her room in order. Lord knows how long it is going to take me to find all the pieces to her crib in the storage room.

See you in a week or so by then I should have new belly pictures to post and some baby names for you to kick around.
